Last weekend I helped throw a baby shower for a dear friend. I decided to do a quick craft to add some decoration. It was the fastest (and cheapest!) DIY I’ve done in a while. I actually had most of the supplies and snagged a ton of white tissue paper for about $1.00 (from either Target or The Dollar Store).
Simply cut the tissue paper into approximately 5″x8″ rectangles. You can cut many layers together to save time. Then stack about 6 sheets and fold them accordian-style.
Next, wrap the floral wire around the center of the folded stack, and make the wire as long as you would like your ‘stem’. You can wrap the wire with floral tape to give it a more natural look. Finally, carefully pull the top sheet of paper toward the center wire and repeat with each following sheet.
And voila! You have pretty flowers without the expense of real flowers. Make as many as you need for your ‘bouquet’.
